Examine The Age of Exploration Through Comments4Kids

I think this is an essential skill in optimizing and speeding up your work process and productivity. And it’s something you can apply to most everything to enhance your learning.

I agree with you that technology can help your learning and help personalize it so you can connect with what your learning more. And teachers shouldn't hesitate to apply technology to their students' learning for fear of students abusing the use of technology because it's their learning they are jeopardizing not anyone else's. And the teacher's get paid either way. But you can apply technology and blogging to your own learning by yourself to further your learning and open more options and ways to learn.

Comments For Kids

This story is very interesting. I have never imagined what it might be like being toast and being eaten.

I like the detail you put into your post it really allows you to imagine you were there doing it.

You really show how much you understand the assignment and make me want to read what you've written.

Gavin your reasons for writing are very constructive and learning orientated.

Why I Write

To answer the reason why I write, I'd like to answer why you, me, and everyone else writes, to communicate. Whether you are writing a poem, short story, or play you are communicating to others by sharing opinions, feelings, moods, thoughts, facts, and ideas.
The reasons you and I write can be different because we may be trying to achieve different things with our writing such as congress trying to pass a bill, everyone has there own idea and opinion of how something should be done and is trying to persuade others why their way makes more sense than the other guys. An encyclopedia is written to inform you with information or like fiction books are mainly written to entertain. Even a diary written to yourself is communicating because you are writing and reminding yourself what you had done on that day and what your feelings and thoughts were.
So to answer the question of why I write, I write to communicate and interact with others to get a point across, entertain, or persuade. And I set the mood or setting by describing emotions or feelings when i'm entertaining and facts and theories when i'm trying to persuade or inform. So in short you, me, and everyone else writes to communicate or interact with each other.

Mood and Setting

The cold snow bites my skin like the wolf bites it's prey. The whispering winds sweep across the yard instilling all with the frozen fears of the night. The gnarled maple covered in the icy menace of winter threatening to give way. As I follow the path to the cabin to retire from this vast frozen wasteland.

Science Lesson Reflection

Today I taught my Transform Boundaries in science and I believe I could of done a better job of teaching the lesson if I would have had my notes more organized and understandable but I think I got the point of it across because no one looked to horribly confused. And our activity was a success because everyone made some very good examples of the 3 boundaries and wrote a write up of each one.

Science Student Teaching : Transform

I am teaching the 5th hour science class about transformation boundaries.
Cole and I got our information from the science text book and Google Images.
We are sharing one activity with all the boundaries and are have the class make a example of each of the 3 boundaries on a styrofoam plate. We are introducing transform, plate, fault, and boundaries.

Bean Project

Problem - How fast will a Great Northern bean plant grow?
Background - Plants require water, soil, and sunlight to grow.
Hypothesis - I believe that the beans will grow in the soil and water but i think
that the beans will grow larger and faster in soil and Dr. Pepper.
Materials - 2x 2 ounce cups
4x ounces of soil
1x 10mm graduated cylinder
2x smooth sided Great Northern beans
pencil and paper
140mm of water
140mm of Dr.Pepper
ruler in cm
Procedures - 1. Make a hypothesis and identify your objective and variable of the
2. Get safety equipment.
3. Gather materials.
4. Fill 2 2 ounce cups with 2 ounces of soil each and bury bean half
an inch in the soil.
5. Label 1 cup Dr. Pepper and 1 cup Water.
6. Water them every day for 3 weeks with 30 drops from a dropper and
record the growth of the plant over the course of the 3 weeks
Experiment/Collect Data - Graph
Conclusion - I have concluded neither of my variables are good choices because
neither one showed any growth or sign of development on the bean its
Question - What would be a better controlled variable?

Follett Shelf Electronic Library

Yes you can use this site outside of school because all you need to access your account is your username and password. It's legal to use this site because the school pays the service and they waive part of the copyright to provide you legal use of the site.I would like to read "Rocks and Minerals" because it goes with the science unit we are in now and the "Daniel Boone" because it sounds like a very interesting and informative book.

I chose the Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike copyright license because I want people to know who created the work and I don't want people to say they created the work and get the only credit. And they can edit it or change it which might teach me something seeing someone else's opinion. Also I like the idea of people of not being able to make money off it when i'm not making any. I chose derivative because i don't want people to change it and change the license so no one can use it. And Share Alike is a very useful part which requires them to license it under the same license.
